Brunei Twtter

Brunei (pronounced /bruːˈnaɪ/ in English), officially the State of Brunei Darussalam or the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace (Malay: Negara Brunei Darussalam, Jawi: بروني دارالسلام), is a country located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and in fact it is separated into two parts by Limbang, which is part of Sarawak.

Brunei, the remnant of a very powerful sultanate[citation needed], regained its independence from the United Kingdom on 1 January 1984 and is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. During the early-20th century, the Southeast Asian nation experienced an economic boom and underwent rapid development. Economic growth during the 1970s and 1990s, averaging 56% from 1999 to 2008, has transformed Brunei Darussalam into a newly industrialised country. Brunei has one of the world's fastest growing Gross Domestic Product at Purchasing Power Parity. Brunei has the highest Human Development Index among the South East Asia nations

Back in the 1990s Prince Jefri, a member of the Brunei Royal Family, used to stage concerts by major stars to mark the birthdays of his three children, Princes Hakeem and Bahar and Princess Hamidah.
There were concerts by Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Sting and Bryan Adams. all directed by Gavin Taylor, the Director of Channel 4 music programme The Tube.
I spent a week out there filming Princess Hamidah, her family and friends in the run up and during her 21st birthday celebrations - 2 concerts on consecutive nights by Whitney Houston supported by Eternal.
At the end of my stay I was given a brooch.
It has sat in the presentation box it cam in ever since! Quite honestly, there is little point in just looking at it, and I could do with some cash!
It measures approximately 40mm high and is 30mm wide at the widest point. It is not hallmarked. It has previously been insured after being tested as 22ct. It weighs 52 grams.
It is in a double heart design, with a white gold letter "H". The "H" is inlaid with 24 diamonds.
It is complete with the original presentation case, with the same "H" figure on the lid.
It has a clip fixing on the reverse.
So if you have £550 + (or £800 for Buy it now), pop over to ebay and treat yourself!
